Fatal traffic crash, Bellara Extract from myPolice

A man has died after being hit by a four-wheel-drive in Bribie Island this morning.

Initial inquiries suggest just after 11am an elderly man attempted to walk across Eucalypt Street in Bellara.

Police believe his vision was obstructed by a parked vehicle and he was struck by the Holden Colorado as a result.

Despite CPR being performed, the 79-year-old died a short time later.

Anyone with further information is urged to contact police.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.
