Beachmere U3A launched its Term Four Program recently with classes and workshops commencing from Tuesday, 8 October.

The term will continue through to Friday, 6 December and has a host of new classes to tempt its students.

Chair Mary Brown said the new Program was the most diverse this year and included perennial favourites in music, language and exercise but also some exciting new subjects.

“Ukulele remains ever popular and we have three classes this term, from absolute beginner to beginner to those who can already play and just want to have some fun and a good old fashioned singalong. We also continue our guitar classes.

Languages are always popular and we continue Italian this term. Other popular classes to return include orchid growing, quilting, canasta/500, mind matters and chair yoga.

We also have our wonderful Art workshops but this term we also have a weekly Art class where students are encouraged to come along and share their knowledge. Guest art tutors will also visit.

This trend continues in our new Craft class as well, with students bringing along whatever craft project they are working on and we will have guest crafters coming in to show and encourage.

Other new additions to the Program include singing, basic computing and card making. Genealogy and family history is also a favourite, but this term we also have Exploring DNA and DNA Testing.

The Millinery and Hat Making Workshop makes a return just in time for Melbourne Cup, while a new Wednesday Seminar Series kicks off with Life on the English Canals and Life’s Journey with industry speakers providing a practical guide to “getting your life in order”.
