Our Fabulous Art Beachmere Exhibition will open on Thursday, 9 August until Monday, 13 August at “the gallery” on Main Street, Beachmere. Opening night will be a dress up affair with drinks and nibbles available to ticket holders while they contemplate the works of Moreton Bay artists.

Once again this year, resident artist Doreen (Dor) Howes will be available between 10am and 11.30am each day to have a bit of fun doing personal sketches. She will be using pastels or pencil and the sketches will take 10 minutes. The cost will be a gold coin donation with the proceeds going to the local Op Shop for Wildlife

Dor has been an artist since she was 18 years old in England, a trait she shared with her father. She lived in Victoria for 12 years before moving to Beachmere three years ago and will also be exhibiting her work at the exhibition.

Throughout her career Dor has used all mediums including pastels, pencil, watercolours and oils. She is currently happy using acrylics and has her artwork hanging throughout her home.

If you are an artist in Moreton Bay and would like to showcase your work, please contact Beachmere Area Network Group at info@bang.org.au. Entries close 5pm Monday 30 July
